Generally Speaking

We hope everyone is having a great 2013.  We are gearing up for a big season at Wedgewood and North Creek.  Wes and the crews have done an outstanding job getting both courses in great shape.  In spite of the weather being un-cooperative, they have been really productive.  It all starts with quality golf course conditions!  And their hard work over the past several years has paid off.  So there is no reason not to make both of our facilities your home for 2013.  We will be offering some creative specials and fun events to make the game more affordable and more enjoyable for everyone.  So please make sure you keep your e-mail address current with us and LIKE us on Facebook.

I encourage everyone to take full advantage of having two courses to choose from. If you're not a member, you should take a look at our different options.  The courses are only going to get better, and with the value of our memberships, it's an easy choice.  We hope to see you soon at Wedgewood and North Creek and as always, we welcome your input.

Turf Talk

Come on Spring!  I know I'm not the only one feeling it, fortunately it's right around the corner.  Our greens have started to green up a little, which is always a welcomed sight.  With the warmer temps in the 10 day forecast and some sun, I think we will see a lot more color throughout.  We are in the process of pre-emerging both courses.  The excessive rainfall has held up our spraying but we have some dry days ahead to catch up.  In the meantime we have been applying granular in certain areas.

Currently we are painting and making new tee markers.  Many of our seniors will be happy to know that GOLD PAINT was purchased.  That's right, the gold tees will be back in the very near future.

We are planning to add drainage to the area next to #1 tee and #17 green at WW.  Those will be the first of a few soggy areas we will work to eliminate.  We removed several trees from the right side of #18.  This will help to establish more turf and make the hole more player friendly.  We will grind the stumps this spring and take out some more trees on #10 and #15.

A lot of people have asked what affect the flooding at North Creek has had on the course.  We've experienced water on the course like this before, it fortunately has not caused any real damage, but a lot of clean up, some creek erosion, and some weed pressure which we can tackle.  #4 lake has been drained down the last few weeks to fix a drain pipe.  We will have it filled back up soon.

Again, looking forward to the upcoming season.  Feel free to email me with any comments, complaints or requests.  We take all feedback into consideration.  Hope to see all of you soon on the courses!

Wedgewood:
Wake up everyone, I hear the Spring alarm clock ringing.  By now you've cleaned and oiled your deer and duck hunting weapons and hopefully PUT them away.  It's now time to dust and wipe down your golf equipment and get ready to play.  The golf course is clean and in excellent condition.  The greens are quick, true and rolling perfect.  So come on, let's get back to the outdoors, but this time let it be on the course at Wedgewood,
where the game is.  You can still see all the ducks, geese and deer that you've been use to, but now you have the chance to bag eagles and birdies.  Now where else can you legally bag eagles, or harvest a buck (The folding kind), this time of year, other than THE WOOD.  That's Wedgewood.  So come on to the outdoors with us and enjoy the natural beauty that's here.

Best wishes & God Bless
