Luc McLeod's Golf Tip Continued...

Legion Memorial Golf CourseChoose the right stick!

Remember, the goal in golf is to take the lowest possible score on each hole, so our tee shot selection needs to be made with that in mind. Often times, "taking the lowest score" and "hitting the longest tee ball" DON'T go hand-in-hand. Choosing to hit a fairway metal or a hybrid off of the tee is a good option. In some cases it can take trouble out of play and for the most part can be an easier club to hit straight when compared to your driver.

Try this out the next time you play: Choose a comfortable yardage that you would like to hit your approach shot from, and then base your tee shot off of that. If you are playing a 325 yard par 4 and want to hit your approach from 135 yards, then instead of grabbing driver, hit your club that goes 190 yards  and hit it confidently! A little course management goes a long way to shooting better scores!
