As of August 1st the maintenance focus throughout the subdivisions during the rainy season has been weed control in the mulch beds, pavers and turf. In addition to our normal schedule we monitor the various drainage easements along with monthly irrigation checks. Additional weed controls in various areas throughout the community were required in June along with our regular applications. Along with the regular trimming schedules, fertilization and pest management has been part of the overall maintenance schedule.

The common grounds weekly maintenance throughout Treviso Bay is scheduled Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Maintenance in the common grounds this summer closely followed the same program as our sub-divisions except for those areas with Zoysia turf. Each year we project plant replacement and budget for those projects and the individual plant replacement. This allows us to allocate the funding within the budgets. The projects have been completed this summer in various areas throughout the community. Our Superintendent, Gregory Jack and I have been working with Lennar to address some of the sidewalk drainage issues from Garden Center #1 through #3. As the various pine straw beds mature, they begin to block the drainage of the sidewalks creating mud and ponding water. Over the next two months we will be working in areas at Garden Center #2 & #3 rebuilding and elevating beds along with re-establishing natural drainage that has been blocked over the years due to plant growth. Garden Center #1 will take additional planning to address the drainage.

As we move out of rainy season we will begin our fall project schedule which includes our annual tree trimming and our annual mulch and pine straw application. In November we are scheduled to switch to our bi-monthly mowing schedule throughout the community.

Currently, our lake levels are high and will remain at that level throughout October. As we near dry season the lake levels will fall to a lower level, exposing the latorial shelf and in some cases the sallow portion of the lakes. This is normal occurance each year as the amount of rain decreases and the surface water dissipates in the wetlands and lakes.

The Golf Course has just completed its second of three aerification scheduled for this summer. In addition to the regular golf course maintenance, Gregory’s team has been refurbishing the bridges and trimming the grass plants along the fairways.

You will continue to receive regular announcement through the email blast as these projects begin. I will be sending you an additional update through the newsletter in November. If you have a specific question regarding your home, sub-division or a common area within the community, feel free to contact me directly.

Best Regards,

Scott R. Scharnott GM, LCAM
