Treviso Bay Landscaping Update November 2016

With the continued growth of our community I wanted to begin giving you brief updates on the various activities, schedules and projects for the individual sub-divisions along with the common grounds throughout the community.

Below is our bi-weekly mowing service schedule for the sub-divisions along with the vendor servicing you home or condominium. As I mentioned in my August update, the bi-weekly mowing service begins in November through April during the dry season. Common areas that have been planted with Bahai grass are serviced once a month. You will begin to see these areas go completely dormant until next May. These areas include various lake banks and back slopes throughout the community.

Via Veneto – Monday (Crawford)

Di Napoli – Thursday/Friday (Crawford)

Vercelli – Thursday/Friday (Crawford)

Italia – Tuesday /Wednesday (Crawford)

Piacere – Tuesday/Wednesday (Crawford)

Ponte Rialto – Thursday (Sunnygrove)

Casoria Court – Thursday (Sunnygrove)

Avellino Place – Thursday (Sunnygrove)

Trevi Court – Thursday (Sunnygrove)

Bella Firenze – Thursday (Crawford)

Acqua – Monday (Greenscapes)

Giaveno – Wednesday (Sunnygrove)

Venezia – Wednesday (Sunnygrove)

Ponziane – Wednesday (Sunnygrove)

Montiano – TBD

As of November 1st the maintenance focus throughout the subdivisions during the dry season shaping the shrubs throughout the community along with weed control in the mulch beds, pavers and turf. In addition, turf fertilization will be done in November to help maintain the appearance during the dry season when turf growth is slow. Along with the regular trimming schedules that is scheduled quarterly, fertilization and pest management has been part of the overall maintenance schedule. Cooler nights will create a reduction in color from the brilliant green we enjoy throughout the summer rainy season.

The common grounds mowing schedule changes to bi- weekly throughout Treviso Bay and is scheduled Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Maintenance in the common grounds this winter will closely followed the same program as our sub-divisions except for those areas with Zoysia turf. The treatment for fungus in our Zoysia turf began in October. The turf will be retreated in November to keep fungus issues to a minimum going into the winter months. The cooler dryer periods through the winter create optimal conditions for fungus and disease for all of the turf throughout the community.

Our fall projects began in mid-October with the application of pine straw on the golf course and along the main boulevard. Our annual mulch/pine straw for the subdivisions is scheduled for the first week in December.  Some tree trimming will take place in December while the majority of the trimming around the street lights will be completed after the first of the year. Tree trimming is scheduled after the first of the year. Over the next two months we will be working in areas at Garden Center #2 & #3 rebuilding and elevating beds along with re-establishing natural drainage that has been blocked over the years due to plant growth. Garden Center #1 will take additional planning to address the drainage.

Currently, our lake levels are high and will remain at that level throughout late October. As we go into dry season the lake levels begin to fall to a lower level. This will expose the littoral shelf and in some cases the sallow portion of the lakes. This is normal occurance each year as the amount of rain decreases and the surface water dissipates in the wetlands and lakes.

You will continue to receive regular announcement through the email blast as these projects begin. I will be sending you an additional update through the newsletter in February. If you have a specific question regarding your home, sub-division or a common area within the community, feel free to contact me directly.

Best Regards,

Scott R. Scharnott GM, LCAM
