GSGA Membership – Remember to Renew!
Have you renewed your GSGA membership for 2010 yet? If you are a GSGA member through a public or semi-private club, just visit your home club professional to renew for 2010 and make sure your records are up-to-date. Your GSGA membership benefits include the computerized handicap service, subscription to Golf Georgia magazine, eligibility for some of GSGA’s statewide competitions, special recognition for holes-in-one and other unique feats on the course, as well as members-only specials and rewards. Don’t miss out on any of your membership benefits in 2010 – renew today!

13th Annual Georgia Cup Match Set for March 30
Benefitting the Georgia State Golf Foundation
Established at The Golf Club of Georgia in 1998, The Georgia Cup annually brings together the reigning United States Amateur and British Amateur Champions for an 18-hole match in advance of the Masters. This year's match features 2009 U.S. Amateur Champion Byeong-Hun "Ben" An of South Korea and 2009 British Amateur Champion Matteo Manassero of Italy. Find out how you can get involved by clicking

Bid on Tee Times and Support Turfgrass Research
Golf’s great online auction comes to Georgia this spring with hundreds of tee times at some of the game’s finest facilities up for bid. Georgia is among five states participating in the auction from April 7-21 at www.Rounds4Research.com. Proceeds benefit turfgrass research on behalf of golfers, the golf industry and the environment.

GSGA Competitions Underway
Entries are currently being accepted for the GSGA competitions listed below. In 2010, the GSGA is utilizing TPP Online for both tournament registrations and scoring. With this new system, all players will be required to create a new user account prior to registering to play in their first event. The process is easy and only takes a few minutes. Specific instructions can be found on the GSGA Competitions web page.
- Super Senior Championship (open through March 24)
- Women's Match Play Championship (open through March 24)
- Four-Ball Championship (open through March 31)
"Play Golf Georgia" Tags Now Available!
Join the golfing community in putting Georgia's specialty golf tag on your car! The Georgia Junior Golf Foundation (GJGF) is promoting Georgia as a great place to "Tee It Up" with the creation and sale of a specially designed license tag. Funds raised through the license tag program will help support GJGF’s free services and resources that are provided to all junior golfers in the state of Georgia.

Just For Juniors...
GJGF, University of Georgia Golf Course Host Junior Clinic on April 26th
In conjunction with the Nationwide Tour's Stadion Athens Classic, the Georgia Junior Golf Foundation is hosting a free Junior Golf Clinic on April 26th at the University of Georgia Golf Course. The clinic takes place from 4:00-5:30 and will be hosted by Chip Beck, a former UGA All-American and three-time Ryder Cup participant who is serving as honorary chair of the Athens Classic. The first 200 participants will get a free Chick-Fil-A sandwich. Both the UGA men's and women's golf teams will be on hand, along with Hairy the Dawg, Spike and the UGA cheerleaders.
