Pat Tallent Wins 2014 United States Senior Amateur
With a 2&1 victory over Bryan Norton, Pat Tallent, of Congressional Country Club, takes the 2014 USGA Senior Amateur Championship.  Tallent holed a 30-foot putt on the 17th hole to seal the deal on a tremendous week.  Congratulations to Pat!  FULL STORY>> 

Loyola Golfer Matt Oshrine Wins First Collegiate Event and Honors His Late Father

Denny McCarthy Helps Lead USA to World Amateur Team Championship Victory
Denny McCarthy, Rockville, MD, shot an 8-under par 64 on the final day of the WATC in Karuizawa, Japan to help secure victory for Team USA.  His front nine score of 28 set the WATC record for lowest ever recorded at the event.  Congratulations to Denny, and the rest of team USA, for a great victory.  FULL STORY>>

Howson Runs Away with Senior Amateur at Musket Ridge
John Howson could hardly stand the wait as he looked forward to a 55th birthday and full tournament playing golf in the Senior division. From 50-54 (2009-2013) he made the best of it by winning three Maryland State Senior Opens (age requirement is 50) and qualifying for a U.S. Senior Open.  FULL STORY>>


MSGA Announces USGA State Team Representatives
The Maryland State Golf Association announced that Patrick McCormick, Mark Cusic and Joseph Rice, IV have been selected represent the state of Maryland for the 2014 USGA State Team Championship.  The event will be held September 30 - October 3 at French Lick Resort in French Lick, Indiana.  Tom Whelan, 1st Vice President of the MSGA will be the non-playing captain.  The event will be a 54 hole stroke play championship, with two of the lowest three individual scores counting for each round.  Good luck team Maryland!
