2005 DEVELOPMENT OF THE YEAR

SANDIA GOLF CLUB AT SANDIA RESORT & CASINO
RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD RECOGNITION

ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – Sandia Golf Club has recently been awarded the 2005 Development of the Year Award by Golf Inc. Magazine, the nation’s leading publication for golf course owners, managers, and developers. Located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sandia Golf Club features a world class golf experience that offers a visually stunning and strategic 18 hole golf course designed by Scott Miller, complete practice facility and a 16,000 square foot “Pueblo” style clubhouse featuring restaurant, golf shop and expansive patio.

The contest was conducted by Golf Inc. to highlight the country’s most innovative golf developments, with Sandia atop a strong list of competitors. Selections were made based on aesthetic and environmental qualities as well as the ability of the development and management team to meet the expected vision for the completed golf development.  Other factors that were included in the judging were course routing, clubhouse design/functionality, facility presentation, and golf course conditioning.

“We’re excited and honored to receive this esteemed recognition as 2005 Development of the Year,” stated Governor Stuwart Paisano. “The development of this golf facility supports the vision of the Pueblo of Sandia, to create a truly unique and memorable resort destination at Sandia Resort and Casino.”

From the first day of opening, the golf at Sandia has been positively recognized by the community at large for its outstanding presentation, playing conditions and overall service levels. In fact it has been so well received that Sandia hosted over 17,000 golf rounds in the first four months of operations.

“The feedback we have received from our guests on the golf course, clubhouse & guest services has been extremely positive,” stated Dave Goff, VP of OB Sports, the golf management company for Sandia Golf Club.  “The combination of offering a high level golf experience at a reasonable price point seems to have found a real niche with both area residents and visitors alike.”

The golf at Sandia is a key amenity to the Sandia Resort & Casino that is already a popular gaming and entertainment venue. Coming in December of 2005, Sandia Casino will boast a world class resort that will feature 228 luxurious, oversized guest rooms including over 30 suites. Every guest room and suite will be highlighted by awe-inspiring views of the Albuquerque skyline or the rugged wildness of the Sandia Mountains. The resort will also include over 35,000 square feet of “state of the art” entertainment, meeting & convention space that can accommodate groups up to 3000, a 12,000 square foot spa, a multitude of dining options including a 410 seat signature buffet, themed steakhouse and Bien Shur, the roof top gourmet restaurant with an indoor/outdoor entertainment lounge with the most breath-taking views this side of the Valle Grande.
