May was a fun month for our Women’s Club!  During the month, Colin Gants, PGA Head Professional offered three free clinics to his ladies; rules, putting and chipping.  We had about 50 participants sharpening their knowledge and skills prior to the season beginning.  A huge thank you goes out to PGA / LPGA Member Patti Marquis who was our guest instructor for the ‘short game’ clinics.  She did a fantastic job and the ladies loved her.  If you are interested in learning more from this ‘short game expert’ you may reach her at Interbay GC where she will spend the season teaching both group and private lessons.   

 

The Seattle Amateur Championship will be played on July 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th at the three Seattle Championship Courses.  The tournament is unique in its 3-day and 3-course format and has long been considered one of the most important championships in the Northwest.  In its 80 years, the Seattle Amateur has crowned champions that have won US Amateurs, participated on Walker Cup teams, gone to play on the PGA Tour and have been elected into the PNGA Hall of Fame.  Entries are open to amateur golfers with a handicap index that does not exceed 3.9.  An application can be downloaded from the tournament website, by clicking here. Deadline for entry is June 15^th.

The West Seattle Amateur is a two day stroke play event on July 19^th and 20^th.  This popular event is open to any golfer with a handicap index less than 20.  The field will be flighted with awards given to the top finishers in gross and net in each division.  Deadline for entry is July 14^th and you can download an application here.
