2015 Seattle Amateur

Congratulations to our 2015 Champion, Erik Hanson who shot a 3-day total of 8-under par 204 to win by two shots over Greg Gildea and Andrew Whalen.

Erik lead wire to wire after shooting a course record 62 at Jackson Park.

2015 West Seattle Amateur

What a great couple of days at the 26th playing of the West Seattle Amateur Championship.

There were a couple of exciting story lines going on today:

1. Joseph Fryer, our day one leader who shot a ‘Competitive Course Record’ of 65 yesterday trying to add a West Seattle Amateur Title to his Seattle Amateur Title.

2. Christopher Hatch who made sure that Joe Fryer could only sleep on his course record for 24-hours.

Congratulations Joe Fryer who won the 2015 West Seattle Amateur with a two day total of 8-under par 136.  He beat Daniel Lesnett, Rich Evenson and Chris Hatch by 5 strokes.

While the final group was battling it out on the 11th hole, I caught wind of a golfer who was as hot as the temperature and was 7-under par on the day through the 15th hole.  As we joined Chris Hatch on the 16th green, he proceeded to knock in a downhill 25 footer for birdie to go to 8-under par.  Then, nearly driving the 17th green, he chips up and calmly rolls in his 8-footer to go to 9-under par on the day.  Playing the 18th hole, Chris drove it beautifully, hit his approach shot to 30 feet right of the hole and two putted for par and a ‘Course Record and Modern Competitive Course Record’ of 9-under par 63.  Congratulations, there has been none better in the last 60 years.
