Jefferson Park is ramping up for a spectacular spring golf season. The new cart barn is complete and work on rebuilding the back tee on the first hole will commence soon. The work on the 12th green has been completed (the green was expanded to the left, trees were removed and new drainage was added). The green will reopen for play by the middle of the month.
Parking
The VA Hospital is scheduled to open its new 1,000 car parking garage this month. It should be a great relief to Jefferson’s parking woes. While the overall improvements to the parking situation are yet to be determined, it is safe to say that the demand for Beacon Avenue parking should lessen.
Driving Range
The extension of the driving range nets on the right side was completed last month. However, the upper deck will remain limited to irons only until further testing can be completed to verify its effectiveness.
A new set of hitting targets has been added to your driving range experience. The six foot wide hexagon targets will give you a fun way to dial in your short game.
Beer Buckets and Lunch Buckets are available every day on the range. Hit balls while enjoying a beer or lunch and save money at the same time. The Beacon Grill has several options to choose from. Best of all, you can bypass the pro shop and get your buckets & beer or lunch in the restaurant.
Golf Instruction
The new Golf Instruction Corner has been set up under the stairs near the driving range entrance. This will be the center of the universe for Jefferson Instruction. Our teaching pros Tony Wilkins, Lyndsey Devenish and Randy Burgeson are available daily to get your swing on track. Jefferson offers numerous lesson options to match your swing or budget needs. Dollar for dollar, the best money you can spend on improving your game is on instruction.
