The golf course is engaged in outstanding food & beverage services for their members, customers, golfers and for the general public.

Course serves the general public thru banquets, meetings, wedding, outings, and catering business.

Personnel attend F & B trade shows, restaurant shows and other events to enhance the courses’ overall Food and Beverage operation

The golf course is aesthetically pleasing and well maintained. Every detail of the course and clubhouse is taken care of. Attention to detail is essential and all aspects of the course are visually appealing to the consumer.

It is obvious that this course has paid attention to detail in the course and grounds maintenance area.

Attention to the facility is also important as pro shop, dining areas, banquet halls, etc. are also well maintained and both golfers and non-golfer customers appreciate the condition of the facility.

The course has a well trained and experienced maintenance staff and the operation is well run and efficient.



Golf Shop Service

The golf course shows outstanding service to the golfing public who come to their course. The pro shop consistently fulfills the needs of their customers. The golf shop has a wide variety of inventory for the golfers. From clothing to the newest equipment, the golf shop and staff is keeping up with the latest trends and innovations in the game of golf.

The golf shop provides a personal touch by providing services such as re-gripping of clubs, lessons and anything else for the ultimate customer service experience.

The Golf Shop Service recipient has well-trained and knowledgeable staff who put customer service as their #1 priority.



Membership and Marketing

Member courses have engaged in innovative marketing efforts designed for effective recruitment and retention of members. They have demonstrated creativity in their advertising and marketing designed to connect with different demographic groups.

The course has utilized their website, to promote their course, events, tee times, etc. They have also utilized Social Media processes such as Facebook, Twitter, etc in communicating to its golfers.

The course has been creative in organizing leagues and events to involve many different groups of people. The course offers different membership plans and options to suit the needs of its clientele.



Player Development Award

This golf course is engaged in a comprehensive and well planned and executed Player Development Program designed to introduce, engage and involve new people to the game of golf. Golf course staff was actively involved in the promotion and execution of the Player Development programs.

The Player Development programs involve both established National Programs such as Play Golf America, Tee It Forward, Get Golf Ready, and Women’s Golf Month as well and programs created by the course themselves such as specific programs directed at specific demographic groups like youth golf seminars, minority and women’s leagues and seminars, beginners programs, etc.

This is one of the most important awards the GCOW presents, as it shows the true dedication and vision that the course owners and staff shows in promoting and introducing new people to the game of golf to assure the future success of our sport.



Teaching Center

Member courses have a specific area of the course that is dedicated to teaching and learning the principal skills of golf. The course utilizes numerous learning tools and serves people of varying demographics.

The course has various lesson plans and options established in an attempt to serve as many populations as possible. Specific learning programs are aimed at juniors, women, physically challenged and other groups are designed to grow the game.

The course employs instructors that are PGA or LPGA professionals, USGA certified, or have received other appropriate certifications.



Teacher of the Year

An employee from a member golf facility who has shown an outstanding commitment to teaching the game of golf to a wide variety of people while also performing duties integral to the success of a member golf course.

A teaching professionals duties vary widely depending on the course where they work. They must not only be able to teach golfers of different ages and abilities, but sometimes manage the operations of the golf course, run the pro shop, market the golf course to potential new players and members, and work with the greens crew in striving to maintain the course in tip-top condition.

They may be responsible for the golf course's day-to-day operations. Duties include organizing and communicating tee time policies, working out the details of club competitions and tournaments -- both among the members and for outside corporate groups -- insuring a good pace of play by training and supervising starters and monitors, and supervising other members of the golf staff.
